Everything is still ticking along nicely

Got the new air pump recently (Oase Aqua Oxy 2000) which certinally helped when the weather got into the high 30s and the water temp hit 24. It's a whisper quiet pump. It looks like this but I got it elsewhere for $100 less:

No casualties and now they are back to their normal selves as the weather has cooled down.

How quiet is whisper quiet?

I bought a ACO003 (I think off the top of my head)....does 50l/min and the damn thing hums like an idling v8.

The oxy 1000 is so quiet that you cant tell its even on. The 2000 (that I have) has a slight hum but its pretty faint and there is no way I can hear it over the buzz of my water pump. You could easily have it inside and you would hardly notice it.

I had an ACO-something - about 70lt/min and I it made a heck of a raquet so I sold it to some poor bugger in WA (thanks Gnash).

Thanks. Good to hear.

Looking at it, do you have it exposed or under cover?

What's with you guys.... buzzing water pumps, and noisey air pumps....

I've got my ACO-008 underneath my bedroom, and about 10mtrs from my neighbours bedroom.... and neither of us notice it... and I can't hear my water pumps, I'd be worried if I did...

Then you should either be sleeping soundly for eight hours.... or comatose for at least four hours...

I got an ACO 007 and it sounds like a jet taking off. No way I could use it without a visit from the bi-laws officer

I find the ACO-03 hum rather reassuring - you can hear it from the house and if you CAN'T hear it.... well that's a dead giveaway that something's wrong.

I also find the hum of the pump, and the trickle of the water quite reassuring, but the roar of the old pump was just a bit too much.

On another note, the water temp hit 25C last week and the trout are doing pretty well. I've still got 60 and most of them are around 20cm and too small to harvest. There are a few that seem to congregate around the air bubbles, but others swim around like it's just another day the only difference is they dont eat much. I had one death, but I guess that could have been for a number of different reasons. Looks like I've finally got enough air.

How much are you feeding them? I harvested mine a couple of weeks ago, just before the hot weather we had ( power got cut then as well) most were 25 cm and a few at 30 cm with only a couple smaller ones. I fed them twice a day, once in the morning and then when I got home from work.

I did find that they seemed to eat better when the water was moving (pumped around), rather then with just an airstone adding air.

I was feeding a minimum of twice a day, often 3 times.
I was thinking of getting a bigger pump soon and T-ing off 2 lines, one as a fountain and one to circulate the water.
