It's going to be cold here in Central Florida tonight. I have 250 gal IBC tank with 27 fish in it with 2 500 watt heaters in the tank. The temp of the water is set for 77 degrees but at night the temp has dropped to 68 degrees. Question is would it be better to place the pump on a timer to shut off during the night and only run during the daylight hours to help with the water temps? or just continue to let the water circulate through the grow beds? I have good aeration in the tank.

Mark, you're just going to have to try it and see how your system copes without the filtration for a while. Try it for 3 or 4 hours first time and then take some readings to see how much your ammonia has climbed. If the result is acceptable, stretch it out a bit further and take the readings again.
Mine manages to go for 6 hours without filtration every night and copes fine, but each system is different.
