16mm on Wed
4.5mm Thursday
16mm Friday

Can not use the water in the tanks fast enough! If we get any more I will have to empty some water out of the FT.

49mm here - been a while since we saw 2 inches in 24hrs!

Im so glad we are not broadacre farmers... it would be heartbreaking to finally have a bumper crop after so long with drought conditions, and then the one thing youve been praying for for so many years is what destroys it.

All we can do is hope that things wont be as bad for them as it looks :support:

Another 25mm yesterday bring our 4 day total to 61.5mm, woke to find the FT over flowing. I siphoned off the water to the storm water drain as the grass couldn't take any more water!

What rain?
We have got very early( by at least a month) snow and ice !The temperature in the aquadrome this morning was -7degrees C.
The emergency water tanks all had ice on them and although the fish tanks were ok -the netting over the tanks all had icicles on them. No trouble with the pumped water onto the growbeds and returning to fishtanks. Some of the growbeds were very cold with ice on them but thankfully not all frozen up. The trout have gone into quiet mode and we shall have to keep a keen eye on everything to make sure we do not get a build up of nasties, particularly ammonia.
The weather forecasters think we shall have at least a fortnight of this cold weather.

50mm in the last couple of days and looks like another big dump coming tonight
Wind in the north and locusts getting about but not a problem just yet. Hoping the wind swings around after this change and blows them away.
Hope the buggers stay away till the weekend when I will make some box frames covered with shadecloth to go over the byap growbeds

Just heard Melbourne is getting a months rain in the next 48 hours.
Great for the catchments,

However... speaking to the guy laying the concrete slab for the house being built next door,
He's not pouring the thing til after the rain.
Quite understandable really as it wont be good for the slab, but my worry is that there is now a plastic slab liner of the size to match the 60 Square (Not square metre) house that is shortly going to be built on top of it. The other concerning factor is that there is a slight fall in the plastic base leading directly to the point right next to my fenceline on the uphill side of my property.

Could be interesting.... :upset:
