Are you human?: The top half is
Location: Chiang Mai, NW Thailand.
On closer inspection that one in the link above has different specs to mine, slightly confusing website, the link I clicked on with the specs took me to this page.
But anyhow these units should be easily available in Oz, I got this site with a quick Google "digital timers Australia"

Hope it helps.

Well finally things settled and so i started feeding the poor hungry trout, actually patience isn't my strongest point so feed it is. Amm and nitrites did go to 0 for 1 day so that was it
Tested water today and Nitrates are at about 40 with the nitrites at 1 and amm at .25 so all up things are looking great - Water is crystal clear, after about 2 to 3 weeks of murky water that i couldn't see the bottom off - waiting game is probably the hardest. Feeding trout and they all seem happy.

Looking at going bigger and better already and have my eye on a 2000ltr tank and keeping my eye on the for sale section of the forum, but may wait until the new year, grow beds is probably the hardest to find or i might just go up to BYAP and buy 4 2mtr 1mtr GB's - Looks like the 2nd hand gear at BYAP didn't hang around for long, like 3 to 4 hours?
Wanting to push some of my clients in the AP direction so might be up to see the crew at BYAP sooner than that
I do have a question for the tomato growers in AP, How do the Tom's go without the supply of potash/pottasuim, Do they tend to go a bit leggy 8) ????
Cheers
Wal

Tomatoes go just fine Wal.... if you're pH is under 7... then you can always give them a Potassium boost as they flower... with EcoRose, which will buffer your pH back as well...

Seasol/Maxicrop will provide some Potassium as well...

Here are some photos of our vegies so far have started eating lettuce, the beaut thing about it is you don't have to wash all the sand and get the slugs out of it - All the veg are pretty healthy as you can see and trout still going strong with water temps dropping to 13 to 15 at night and getting too 22 to 24 (avg 19) with our hottest of days - so going to keep trout year round as the night temp for barra drops too much - which is a bit of a bummer but hey - trout will be tasty i'm sure.

Testing water weekly
Ph has dropped to 6, should i try to stop it from dropping anymore ?
Amm .25
Nitrate 30
Nitrite 0.25
cheers
Wal
Here's to Ponting scoring some runs this series

Looking good!!

I would say yes to getting your PH a little higher, try putting some shell grid into a sock and hang it in your FT that way you can take it out if need be.

Apart from the low PH they are perfect numbers, your system is cycling nicely :thumbright:

Hey there so i got a old sock filled it with shell grit and drop it in - roughly how long does one have to leave the tea bag in the water for? i suppose it all depends - i'll test tomorrow and see how far the ph has risen.
Weighted one of the trout yesterday qnd he came in a hugely 150gm :drunken:

Hi Wally. My brother is now living in Margs and has seen my system and is , I think , keen.
Told him about BYAP and he said he would call in and have a look when he got back.
There a a few APers in Margeret River eh
The shell grit will not raise the ph quickly and like Decal said you can just pull it out
cheers
Mantis

Hi Mantis,

Yeah there are alot of Vico's living in Marg's, it's a bit like the german invasion, we have plenty of them as well - not saying the Vics are anything like Germans but we have plenty of both. I'll move right along!!!
Umm tell him if he wants to give me a call and drop in and have a look at my system, The plants are really charging at them moment and yeah there are a few guys that are into ap down here.Trev down near the beach has got a huge one and another guy ivan (i think), which i haven't seen
I will send a pm to you or see if he wants to come around tell him to give us a call.
Left the shell grit in over night and ph is back to 7.2 happy with that -
nice 10mm of rain yesterday whilst out fishing and catching abs yesterday. The 10mm saved me from topping the ft up and everything looking fresh this morning
cheers
Wal

Well the trout are going great even though the tank water hits 25 on the odd day - 1 bucket of ice normally drops temp by 1 or 2 degrees.
The 1 tomato plant is going crazy and has lot of fruit on and the other veg are lovin it
But i have bigger plans for the AP system. I'm interested in getting some maron, but once again don't know at this stage what stocking limits would be for about a 1000ltr tank. There is a guy in Marg's giving small ones away so thought i'd get onto it - if anyone could pass on info about maron that would be great
Wal
