Well apparently you can train barra to feed from your hand... but this has to be done from very young... for most barra, if you want them to grow to a good size, don't let them see you before you feed them... throw the food in from a distance... no visitors as well... unfortunately like Rupe said, they are not sociable...

Inquisitive little suckers, they came right up to the camera almost brushing up against my hand.

They have cleared up quite well and seem to be settling in after only being in here since Saturday. Most have lost their stress stripe, and any injuries from netting and transporting seem to be healing up quickly.

shows the difference in suppliers. mine still have a stress stripe and wont eat. theyre not so skittish though, and seem to be coming out of hiding down the very back of the tank . . . . .
theyve been in sinnce last friday

These aren't eating yet, well, one fish eats one pellet when you throw some in..

We will be keeping an eye out for people who try to sneak in with a fishing rod shoved down their pants... :lol:

No, stays running 24/7.... That system actually has three aquarium heaters in it at the moment, just for the settling in period, we'll pull them out in the next week or so, should be pretty right from now on.

oh ok. noticed mine is staying pretty cold over the last few days, its usually just under 20 at about 8am when i check it, so im guessing it gets down to 19 o/night
