i believe cannabis is best in its organic state, the belief of having to make the THC content so strong is derived from Stoners and their tollerance to smoking... the need to get "high as a kite"

if used correctly and grown Naturally, the benifits can be Great for Anxiety, Pain Management, Depression, also for coming off other substances, but using it as a form to get Extremes of Highness is on par with heroin use, the need to get Higher and Stronger "Hydro" types. The addiction is as strong as heroin and can make people act in the same ways to get it, Extreme Cannabis use can lead to Heroin addiction, Psychotic Episodes, Increased Depression & anxiety, Brain Damage etc.

there has been a few studies iv read up on saying that 3 Joints a day is up around the same as the safe recommendations for Drinking alcohol, however this is not based on these extreme Varitiys of pot that people grow in Hydro, dosing with nutes to create this Mega High, its based on typical Marijuana plant grown in a natural enviroment.

i think AP would be the best way to grow a Nice balenced Plant with safe levels of THC Content, would grow Much better than in a Pot or in the ground as it would be in a Controlled PH Environment and nuet levels would stay steady.

The strong stuff is healthier for you not worse for you. Takes less smoke to get the same effect. One puff of the strong stuff is enough for the average joe. It's just better quality, not heroin, and the people here in California won't pay $300 an ounce for crappy pot.

Actually the low potency crap that is sold on the street from mexico is the worst for you. When I was a kid I remember getting some that smelled of diesel fuel, having been smuggled in a fuel tank across the border. Being a kid, I smoked it anyway. Had a headache all day.

Higher amount of THC won't hurt you or cause brain damage. More smoke (any type of smoke but especially tobacco smoke) will cause cancer. However there is some evidence that the cancer causing agents in cannabis smoke are neutralized by something in the smoke, perhaps the THC. Marijuana smokers do not have much higher lung cancer rates than normal. For some reason though, those people who combine marijuana and tobacco smoking have higher cancer rates than smoking tobacco alone.

If you are trying to find a drug which can cause "addiction, Psychotic Episodes, Increased Depression & anxiety, Brain Damage etc" try alcohol, legal in most of the world.

Actually makes me wonder if one of those cancer inhibiting cannabinoids could be isolated and used to fight other cancer. Wouldn't it be ironic if the cure to cancer was found in cannabis?

I completely agree about alcohol iv suffered abuse of both these substances and still feel the effects from both. 7 years of cannabis use from age 15, to give it up only to use alcohol, which iv only just kicked.

My main therory on the higher concentration of thc is more aimed at the human nature of more use, more abuse. I suppose higher concentration and less required would be better but I know from experience that using naturally grown Pot had much less effect on the brain but still gives the medicinal qualitys. Iv seen both sides of the use, some older hippy freinds that have smoked homegrown for years, and are still as switched on and clear as day.

You can't say higher concentrations of thc are "better" as that's absurd the more tollerance you build, the more you need the worse off you will be.

To others who take a 12 month binge and have ended up in mental health care due to massive ANx attacks, psychosis and chronic depression, not too mention criminal records due to addiction.

My mums a psyc nurse and deals with all types of people and agrees alcohol is much worse than pot and the fact that it's available and in aus it's socially accepted for younger teens to get drunk and is classed as culture here to binge drink, who know what were going to deal with in years to come...

Just because people have "massive ANx attacks, psychosis and chronic depression" does not mean it is caused by the substances they are abusing. Many psychologists suggest that it is because of these underlying problems that there is abuse in the first place.

Hehe... There may be a few people addicted to AP. Just try and shut off someone's AP system and call it intervention. I guarantee there will be massive anxiety, anger, and after a few hours with no O2, chronic depression.

Hmm... This thread is in plants... Sorry for getting a little off topic. Maybe we should stay focused on growing related issues?

The son's doctor was not in favor of the son using pot until he found out that the mother grew it. That's the crazy thing about the law here. If you don't grow it yourself (inside) you have to purchase it on the street (illegally of course). No dispensaries here.

I've put off the visit a few more days as I'm transitioning my system to all indoors & building a new aquaponics stand.

The damage to life and property caused by alcohol is quite amazing. You don't get a few mates getting together, having a joint, then going out on the town on a rampage smashing people and things, they tend to sit at home turn on the playstation and order pizza.. :flower:

There are always going to be people who can use different drugs responsibly, and still be a valuable member of society, with few to no side effects on society in general. Look at Paul Kelly, very successful singer song writer, highly prolific, yet almost no one knew he has had an on and off herion habit for over 20 years..

But then I know of some people who should never go near any drugs of any sort, even caffeine... :geek:
