It works! *evil scientist laugh*

Ammonia near-as-dammit 0ppm
Nitrite 0ppm
Nitrate 20ppm

If only the pH wasn't 8.2...

Got a bit more work done today - the last two sumps went in.

I really should have done all four sumps at once, but I've built this as the bits have come to hand.

So I had to pump all of the water out of the existing sumps and hold it in the fishtank and growbeds, whilst I split the waste plumbing and incorporated the new sumps:

All done now, and I just need to fine-tune the water level tomorrow.

And I managed to buy growbed 3 today - a corner bath, rather than a spa, so I don't have all the jets to worry about. It's near Penrith, so a bit of a drive awaits.

But... the fibreglass roofing sheets I have bought are also in Penrith, so I just need to work out how to get 30 3600 sheets of Alsynite and a corner bath on my ute at the same time...

Hi,
Looking at the photos above I noticed some chips in the enamel, you might want to pacth them up 1st before adding water?

I have ready on a few threads the metal underneath isn't good for fish?

Great work on the system though just went back through your thread and it's looking fantastic!! :headbang:

Yes, well spotted. I have given those areas a skim of silicon.

Had a series of wins on eBay - two corner baths and enough fibreglass roof sheeting to reroof the shed. Best of all, all three were about 5km of each other. Not so good was that that 5km triangle was about 120km from me...

You can get a fair bit on a Hilux if you have enough ratchet straps. If it wasn't for the kids I'd have a single-cab and a much bigger tray. I'll get my own back when they're big enough to wield a shovel.

So, this weekend - growbeds 3 and 4 go in. Maybe a start on replacing the roof.

We've ordered some fishies.

Kathy's got a tonne of grow media washing to do...

But, most exciting of all, I've got a line on two more fishtanks! Watch this space...

It's raining quite biblically here. Our dam has a ladder going down into it; the water is up two rungs over the last couple of weeks.
