Welcome Dave

Looks like a significant amount of work - should be a good sized system.

What's the arrangement inside the growbed container ?

which is lined with black plastic and drains into the pond also running black tubeing on
my shed roof to help get temp up for the barra

OK. You shouldn't be needing to heat the water anytime soon (with the possible exception of yesterday and the next couple.

Do you know how many litres in the FT ?

My main feedback at this point is that I would be concerned about the amount of biofilter you have (your pots) compared to the volume of water you have. Ideally you'd have twice the volume of biofilter than you have FT volume, though many people get by with a 1:1 ratio.

You'll have to keep your stocking density fairly low otherwise the biofilter will not be large enough to cope with the ammonia load produced by the fish.

Yeah just had it on over the cold days to warm it up.

i think FT is about 1500ltr but i could fill it to 2000ltrs plus if i filled it up more i have 10 barra in there about 15 small yabbies/marron 12 fress water mussles 30 trount 2-5cms long but they wont be in there for to much longer cause i think the barra will eat them.

I am planing to ad another GB as soon as i find a 1000ltr IBC to tuck around the back
thanks for ya help
David

No worries - yeah, an IBC will improve things.

You're right about those barra - they will eat the trout, and the yabbies.

The mussels will also be filtering you water to a degree.

Have fun !

stop water changes. this only exaserbates the problem. do not use chemicals, it will make the fish poisonous to eat. not sure how big your airpump is but ramp up the airation either with a larger airpump or some fountain pumps. cover the ft 100% and as dark as possible. if you can afford it go buy a UV tube. your tanks shoudl start clearing in about 2-3 weeks. this is all part of cycling a new system up, eventually you will be able to leave it uncovered :)
