Backyard Aquaponics is trademarked for certain things, printed materials, DVDs audio, agricultural kits, agricultural components, educational and instructional materials, etc, can't remember all the bits... I think we did 4 categories because each category costs a fair bit, I think it was well over 2 grand for each category.

I don't have a problem with other people doing AP, just the use of others stuff and bad info isn't good.

Nice to see Candys good solid system, with foam boxes and what looks like dirt in them. :laughing3:

I'm giving them a call tomorrow...... :headbang:

heh - see if anyone has registered to BYAP with foxycod@gmail.com

She uses smartyhost as a webhost :laughing3:

Fair enough competition is a good thing, but ripping off photos from other people, for purposes of profit is a definate no-no.

It certainly looks that way and it still hasn't been fixed (when I checked it 5 minutes ago). Think I may keep clear of them.

Competition based on improved product, knowledge or service... is a good thing...

But frankly I don't think the person(s) involved with this site have any of the above... or any motivation to pursue anything other than a fast buck out of the newest, latest "thing"...

They have the potential to bring disrepute not only to the fledgling industry... but to aquaponics as a concept...

It never ceases to amaze me how virtually all the johnny-come-lately "aquaponics consultants".... never proudly display pictures or proof of their own systems and successess.... or of the time spent acheiving them...

Usually... because they can't.... don't and haven't....

Yeah you have to wonder don't you..

Take comfort in the fact that anyone searching aquaponics on google gets two reputable companies #1 &2... I'm sure anyone she actually talks to probably ends up on BYAP anyway :D

I'm delighted that they've discovered the concept of aquaponics... and have a desire to show it to others....

But to make wild claims based on what appears to be very limited experience... and possibly limited understanding....

And to offer bad advice... offer to fix other peoples designs... and host workshops and provide consultancy...

Smacks of motivations other than... "wow, what a great way to grow food, this aquaponics is great, you should try it"...

in the long run they will probably end up with ppl with high failures, and its these ppl that will start a "Its all a scam that aquaponics, Ive tried it" That will be the hardest damage to fix
