I have some 4mm barra pellets, they are too large for my trout fingerlings, does anyone know if there is an easy way to use these.

I just use one of those small hand wind coffee grinder

The Fish Obesity Epidemic, the only cure for this is to eat them :)

If only all obesity obesity problems could be dealt with in such a way... Hang on, that sounds a bit weird.

Hey all,

I have the same question. Rupert mentioned About 1-1.5% of their body weight. How many times daily is that? Also I don't have floating pellets and the visibility of my tank is low. Is this a major problem?

Cheers, Paul

Always good to use floating pellets so you know how much they are eating. If not hungry you remove floating pellets from tank after 30mins to prevent water becoming rancid

Thanks for the reply guys.

I have a single IBC system (tank approximately 800L), its been operating for a few months now with just goldfish in it. The trout are fingerlings about 50mm in length and I have 8 of them in the system.

Yes I really wish I had floating pellets especially because the water is murky and I can see the bottom to see if any are pellets left over. I'm not sure where I would purchase them in Adelaide though. If there are some pellets left on the bottom do the trout generally clean them up?

Cheers, Paul
