Hi All

Its been a while. Work and children has stopped me progressing on my system. Time will soon be available to get on with it.

Can anyone identify these tomatoes for me? Maybe yellow pear gone wrong?

Could they perhaps be yellow pear?

Excellent flavour, vigorous heavy bearing throughout the season, heat resistant. Acid free. Good for pickling, though I do not know that I have heard of pickled tomatoes??? Heritage variety. :thumbleft:

I think you are right Faye. I planted a whole lot of seeds from a Digger's Heritage seed pack. I have lost a fair amount of tomatoes due to caterpillars. So its Dipel from now on

Ok! Here you go:

Soup/Pesticide Recipe:

1 Gal Water
2 Onions
1 full bulb of Garlic
1 tbs cheyenne pepper
1 tbs chili powder
1 tbs black pepper

Mash everything together (I used a blender), boil for about 20 minutes, strain, cool, and spray on leaves. I have only tried this once but after the second application, it looks like the Aphids are gone. So far a do not see any ill affects to the plants.

Thanks Jamie

Down with the aphids this weekend. I hope ladybirds enjoy the spicy brew though
