Thought it might have been the smell of another "aromatic" plant...

Hi Jaymie and Axl! :wave1:
Phew! Your pages take some commitment to get through, but so worth the time to do so.
Such an awesome system!
Its like all the best of networking, friendship, fish, veggies and serious do it yourself all rolled into one.

Hope you have a mango for me, I've not found any nice ones recently in our stores and my mouth started watering at the mention of them.
Thank you for sharing so much. Two thumbs up! :thumbright: :thumbleft:

(stands up) Hi, I'm Rick and I'm an aquaponaholic ("hi rick")...
But it's all Jaymie's and Axl's fault and this perfectly-sized thread.
They are enablers, pure and simple. I started reading, and by the second day I was thinking it's perfectly normal to put fish in your backyard and have them help you garden.
By the fourth day I was looking at anything over 100 liters by the roadside and thinking "Hmmm..." as I passed by. Bathtubs, barrels, oil change drain pans...

By the time I caught up to the end of the thread, I had laughed, I had cried, but the change in my brain was irreversible. I HAD to have some live fish! I HAD to make the system as big as I could!

My friends all go the other way 'cos they don't want to hear of spider valves.
But I've got new friends now. Here's a picture of my fall Romas, here's the URL of my local-paper gardening blog.

Thanks, y'all. ("clap clap clap")

I must admit I am looking at the council skip bins on peoples front lawns and thinking " hhmmm one of those, some foam insulation inside and how many square meters of pond liner would I need  (do I have enough friends to help me move one? :shifty: )

LOL!
Hi Rick!
That is so funny. And yes, I agree things look different and there is a noticing of things that hadn't existed in our world before. And questions, like what do you think it would take to clean that out?
Thankfully we haven't gotten to the friends leaving part yet, so far they are all really curious and ask how is it coming together ever time they see us. And if the family lose their curiosity, well they are stuck with listening to us anyway. :geek:
Thanks for the laugh!

apparently I haven't posted any pictures in here for a long long time, and excuses of broken cameras are not acceptable, so....

there are about 200 jade perch and one mid-sized catfish in here

the catfish needs to find a new home, very soon. New babies are coming :getfish: and Mr Whiskers can't be trusted with tiny fish. :shark:
