Well ABC Perth office has recently received the installation of 4 balcony systems to grace, you guessed it, their balcony taa daa!
They took advantage of the range of colours to brighten up a lovely outdoor entertaining area where they have functions and the staff can enjoy lunch in the fresh air. From an engineering point of view, the structure was able to support 400kg per square metre, just perfect for a balcony system holding around three hundred litres of water and capable of growing a small number of fish as well as salads and herbs. We look forward to seeing updates of their efforts in the future.

The colours of these systems remind me of fruit tingles!
We had been invited to provide the maintenance staff with a basic rundown of how these systems work and offered to visit with plants and seeds to demonstrate exactly how things work.

Tomorrow was set aside and was to be a few people, Friday they sent a flyer around the station, apparently the Gardening Australia crew are going to be there who both Joel and I had met after appearing on Gardening Austraia at differnt times. Don't know if i can bring you photos, as my personal film crew will all be on other assignments, sorry guys!
Oh well, just another day on the team at BYAP. You never know what this job is going to throw at you! Last week 2 systems went to the Curtin Detention Centre near Derby.

Stuart, I wrote to the ABC and asked how it was all going and they have sent through some photos as well as an article from their newsletter for which I am just waiting for permission to post, just to be sure that it is okay. I'll keep everyone updated as best I can. The systems were exposed to some heat and I think they were planning on putting up a shade sail to help the systems cope with the approaching summer. They have different people looking after each one and different fiash such as koi and silver perch. Some of the staff are looking forward to their fish reaching plate size while others are happy to keep them as pets.
