Will be interesting to hear your thoughts on the new flood and drain with timed pump system :headbang:

after going flood and drain with timer, the readings have been a bit concerning!
temp - 19 celcius
ph - 7 this is good!
amm - 0ppt this is good!
rites - got to 1ppt tonight! Struth Ruth! Can't work out why? Did a few tests to be sure with both my test kits and sure enough, 1ppt it is....
fish seem fine, but did not feed tonight. I have switched back to coninuos pump with siphons to get readings to normalise and then will try again.
rates - 40 which I am happy with. Always like it to be 20-40!

Anyone got any thoughts?

Hey mate hows the test results today?
water temps 19?!?!?!?!?! Don't reckon i've had em above 18 yet and that was only one warm day a week or so ago. Does not pumping at night really make a difference in keeping water temps up. Thinking I will go to timer and soon. My system runs 24/7 pump and air.

Do you think if you had a longer "on" cycle, say 40 on 20 off this would be better?

not sure simon, I might go 30/30 but the results today look good.

ph - 6.8ish
amm - 0
rite - 0.25
rate - 40 plus
temp - 18

happy with this!

silvers feeding well, cod feeding very well, putting on the weight like crazy! I want to see how big I can get these guys!

trout are going off! The browns are feeding heavier than the rainbows, that being said, there are more of them! The rainbows are pretty bloody big at the moment, with a couple of giants! Will be interesting to see how much more weight they put on and how long into the season they can go. If I get a week of 25 water temp, I think it will be bye bye time for the trout.

Had a real bitch of a day today.... one of the worst for a long time.... the AP sure is a great stress relief....

More wicking beds! Sponsered by Montagues! Brother in-law works there so was able to pick up a bunch more crates the other weekend. Got some online and will get the rest done hopefully during the week. Here are some update photos.

Thanks mate! My fish have white flesh as with yours. Same as you, I'm not phased as they still taste great! The friends that I gave my biggen to raved about them!

I am umming and ar-ing about getting actual trout feed for my next feed buy. The protien content will be high so will be fine for natives. My only hesitation is they have a colouring agent in it to make the flesh pink.... not sure about it.....anyone out there have any comments?
