The name BlueThumb came about following a skiing trip in Austria. We were backtrailing it and got caught in a blizzard n had a near miss with a massive avalanche. On being rescued some 36 long hours later, one of the chopper paramedics said "I've heard of someone having a green thumb before - but I've never seen a blue thumb!". That was a reference to the 3rd degree frostbite that had engulfed my grasping digit. Damn - I miss that thumb. I still have it - in a jar.

TWICE. If you notice, I've gone through and modified every single photo I included in a post so that it's uploaded to the site so that it never happens again. Took me about 3 days.
