It came up twice I tried to delete the other but the computer got the better of me, new grow bed deeper and no tube to get blocked up by my tommies. Thinkin about joining another tank to the little black sump now because the water level drops alot more now because the grow bed holds more water, I may do the duck weed in the other tank, just can't decide the size of it now, either a tub the same or a blue barrel on the side with top cut out. I will probably get in trouble for taking up any more yard space under the clothes line but if I have a productive purpose for it, it may be explained to the boss as viable, he he. wish this place would hurry up and sell, get started on a decent sized project.

Thanks M8 I emptied my filter washings from my aquarium to increase the poo content.lol and fed some chunks of carrot and I over seeded the rocket in my punnet on the raft so I thinned it out and through the seedlings in there as well, but they floated and I thought how are they gonna get that, I lifted the raft out so I could stuff the greens in a peice of pvc pipe to sink it and there he was one of the marron sitting on top of the pump pigging out on one of the seedlings that got caught on the bird netting, My brother-in-law said on the farms they feed em lupin seeds, they grow really fast, I may get a small bag from the stockfeeder down the road. try that as well. I just set up a BSF lava trap, I built off the utube design, hopefully I will have success from that too.

My new addition, the tank on the left is plumbed into the black sump tank, I will put my marron and duckweed in the blue tank. The water level fluctuation is balanced out a bit better now with the bigger water volume, now my raft won't be balancing on top of the pump at low level.

I put a screw cap top and bottom, cut even slots up the pipe, heated the area above with a heat gun and pushed it in, drilled a 6mm hole in the bottom for drainage, fill will hydroton and there you have it

Hm, dont have a heat gun. Bulk rubbish coming up soon. I want a strawberry tower. :)
Just swapped pumps up to 6000lt/h and 40mm pipe. Working sweet as. Missus not that impressed with the spend. But I reckon if your going to do it might as well do it well. :)
Lots of room to expand. Pump can fill 780lt GB in 3min. Its a demon.95w.
Anyhoo, will post pics tommorow.

Don't need heat gun. Not that they are expensive. You can use the kitchen stove if you have too. It was the cheapest part of my project. Works really well. Lettuce I have has grown from seed and is coming along nicely

Thanks for the info and photo Pete. I love the idea, so simple and material all easily got.
Have a great day, Skipd :flower:

My next idea is to build a frame to support a grow bed over the maroon tank. Where does it stop. Scary what's gonna happen when I get into my new home. Keep it growing like cancer :headbang: :funny1: :geek:
