Thanks guys. I am pretty chuffed with the way it turned out thanks to MalcomC for the design.
The shadecloth is 70% Jamie
Gonna work on the fish tank lid tommorow with same pipe and shadecloth. Getting a buildup of algae in it and no fish that will eat it yet.

Yeah Gnash the poly pipe is tough stuff. Its a bugger to bend into a circle for a fish tank lid but I think I have it sussed. Pics tommorow
Beers now to help achy bones :drunken:

Hopefully now, if the locusts arrive I can fully enclose the system and keep them out. Horrid little creatures they are. :D

Would love to see how you make the tank cover, I have a heap of the 32mm left over from making the arbour for the wife. Didn't think of using it to cover the tank  what a top idea :notworthy:

Those lengths of PVC support the black poly well. Thanks for the idea.

Thanks for the photos.
When thinking about it today I came up with idea for the join to cut short length of pipe put a slit down the length and slide it inside the 2 ends to act as joiner. Then screw together.
Thoughts?

could you sleve a bit of 50mm PVC inside there?? but the other idea would work fine too :)

or could you cut a small peice slit it down the middle then kind of crush it together to make tie diameter small enough to fit inside and then sleeve it and join with tek screws?

i priced mine up today... pwah that pipe is dear!!!

im going to use steel as i can do it much cheaper on the work account and iv got 60 days to pay, and it comes outta my O/T tax and GST free :)

planning on 3.6 x 3 House lined with 30% Shadecloth.

You mentioned 90% block out. Is that for your hoops over your GBs, FT or both?

90% BO might be far too limiting for GB shade? I get high UV and 40deg+ days, and I personally wouldn't go over 30-40% max!

Been growing tomatoes in my greenhouse/shadehouse under 70% shadecloth for years and have bumper harvests. It will be wait and see with the new hoophouse. Got cucumbers, peas, brocolli, lettuce, spring onions, purple sprouting brocolli, basil, roma tomatoes, dill and grape cuttings in the beds, so will see what performs and what doesnt, under the 70%.
