I enjoyed the video. I cannot fathom all the work that went into making it work. I didn't realize that you had two indexing systems going. What sort of daily maintenance do you have to do? You didn't discuss the fish feeders much in the video at all.

LOL, actually I have three indexing valves running cause the video didn't show the 300 gallon system at all since it is a totally separate system.

And you are right I did not show the fish feeders in that video. That will have to be another video.

Daily, the system usually doesn't get much attention other than to peek in at the fish to see that they are well and check that there is food in the feeder. When I'm home at the right time I might hang out by the tank while the feeder is running to see if I need to adjust the length of time (amount of feed) it runs. The big system might get weekly to bi-weekly water tests or at least once a month. Since the system is so full of shells I don't worry too much about pH on it and it is an old system so the bio-filter is pretty rock solid.

The newer 300 gallon system is having more issues with water quality and pH fluctuations so I'm having to do more tests on that one.

I spend more time online talking about aquaponics than I actually spend on the systems now days. That is when I start talking about expanding the system just for an excuse to go out and tinker.

Well dang that's too easy but I would never have figured that out without the tip! I'm here trying to paste the embed code or the whole URL

Thanks for the tip!

And thank you all for the comments on the video. I've been very resistant to doing things like this because my voice is always so horrible to me in recordings. But I guess I'll have to do some more video explanations of things like the fish feeders and towers and the 300 gallon system etc.

If only I can manage to get a video of a duckling chasing a butterfly, that was the funniest thing I ever saw.

Thanks.

I expect to be rather busy for the Month of October so time for playing with video and pictures will be rather limited but I do plan on doing some more videos where I will show off the 300 gallon system, the duck system, the indexing valves in more detail and the fish feeders.

I may also be able to do some videos of cleaning big catfish as well as perhaps processing ducks but those won't be for the faint of heart or people who can't stand the sight of blood.

And if I'm lucky we will get ducks chasing butterflies.

Truly inspirational! I've been following your posts and pictures for a long while but never really understood the size/scope of your setup. The video showed it quite clearly. Awesome!

 :notworthy: :thumbleft:

Yes, more please.
I am repeat-viewing TO HEAR the voice! Well, the layout is so familiar to us who have watched it grow. (Remember the sumpwalk? Waterfall tank?) But your voice is just as I would have imagined. The hands-on experience of birthing the system is audible in every phrase, I wouldn't change a thing.:thumbright:

-and I feel qualified to say so, as a some-time announcer and VO pro!
