Got a 30kg bag of barra pellets a week or so ago. Today I vacum packed them into 1.4kg lots and have made room in the freezer. Should keep me going for a while :D

Yeah bugger the fish feed, what's brewing? :drunken:

Feed looks fairly light in colour, what brand is it? Might have to do an experiment one day using different feeds to see if different feeds make much of a difference to plant growth..

I've been thinking for a while that we might need to set up three separate one bed systems at the shop to do some different trials of many different things.

A pale ale made with pilsner base malt and caraaroma and carabohemian special malts that give the brew a red colour and rich malty taste.
Drinking version one of it now :drunken:

The fish food is Lauke barra pellets. Been using the 1mm pellets of the same till I got these 6mm pellets. The trout love them and the plants are growing really well in my small system.

Been meaning to put a shadehouse over the system from the start and today got busy.
Got a roll of 50mm black blue line poly and some lengths of 90mm pvc and of course star pickets. This is MalcomC 's design that he posted on murrays forum so I take no credit for any of it.
50mm black pipe is a pain to measure out equal lengths

Drilled 64mm holes in the pvc and layed out the posts and first hoop

Banged in posts to leave about 700mm out of the ground, ready the rest of the hoops

Hoops up and with much fiddling with hoop lengths by pushing them down or up on the posts, got it good enough. Maybe some shade cloth on it tommorow , or maybe make a fish tank lid

Hopefully now, if the locusts arrive I can fully enclose the system and keep them out. Horrid little creatures they are. :D

Time for a beer

I reckon about $600 , but have a lot of left over pipe that I could sell easily I think. Havent bought the shade cloth yet so , sell off pipe, buy shadecloth, 500-600 all up.

Had to go tenpin bowling tonight and had an awfall night, but we had a win :drunken:

Looking good mate!!!

I'm still deciding how to do mine as I'm space limited, it's a rental so nothing permanent so hoops could be good :)

I may adapt this idea and build the structure over my fruit tress to keep the damn birds off the apples and apricots!

The blue line pipe is super tough stuff and makes a very sturdy structure and can be drilled etc.
Had to go two tone with the shade cloth as they ran out of one brand and had a roll of another
