Any talented Perth carpenters interested in quoting for turning an old but sturdy shadecloth pergola fixture into one that looks good.

Remove existing battons.

Use existing pillars and existing wooden support beams -

Replace existing battons and shadecloth for something really intersting and nice!

(Supply - fit, build and guarantee an interesting framework suporting dome shaped rainproof / sun reducing pergola materials.)

Thanks

Johnnie

Johnnie, I do this stuff (timber pergolas and decks) on the side to supplement my huge income :wave1: Have been doing so since I wound up the landscaping business I use to run and started teaching.

If you want a curved roof you are best contacting some patio companies, and get them to measure and quote based on using your existing pillars and posts. They will do it all out of powdercoated steel, all prefabed delivered and erected in a day. I would not waste my time looking for a chippy if you are sold on curved, this usually also turns out a fair bit cheaper than a custom timber job.

If you want interesting gabled out of jarrah or treated pine I would be interested and could be persuaded to come have a look by temping me with a coffee and tour of your AP.

Cheers,
Mike

Burnsy advised that to go with curved roofing ... would be the best option. Would look really speccy.

However .. I can't really afford to go that way. :(

But I do need some shade.

So ...

If any you you Perth carpenters are interested in quoting for removing existing shadecloth, replacing knackered weathered battons with new painted treated pine battons on an existing pergola - it would suit me if the price was right. Screws rather than nails would be good.

No shdecloth involved - but double or triple the number of battons that are there already.

To be honest - at my age I am not really up for climbing around on roofs or perolas.

PM if interested.

Many thanks

Johnnie
