Busy day today clearing the area for the new space saver system (BAYP call it the Courtyard System) to go in. I have placed my order with Dean at Grow Fresh Aquaponics. Hopefully will be able to pick it up at the end of the week all going well.

The GB will run parallel to the workshop with the FT coming out from underneath to wards the bricked area that is left.

I will leave half to 1m between the GB and the workshop to allow for access.

Our yard faced due North, towards the traffic lights and I have power in the workshop close by.

The rest of the timber work will be taken down to make way for a new seating area that will go back into the dirt garden behind. I hope to make a start on that next weekend as I want to get the grape that is there on to it's new frame before it shoots. The buds are just starting to come out now.

Sadly the test system will be dismantled and bins put in to grow potatoes. Once the new system is up will see if I can put the tubs back in?

Will transfer the goldies into the new FT and then add some silver perch a bit later.

Yeah!!

Thanks Matt,

Once the weather warms up and I have my system in we should try to catch-up.

Was hoping the new system would arrive this week but still waiting for a green 1000l FT to arrive.
Just looking at the BOM radar it might be a wash out tomorrow any way!

Will spend this weekend getting the new arbour and seating in so we will have some where to sit and watch things grow.

Put the 1st side up this afternoon, would love to have it all built before the end of the weekend.

Here's to no rain this weekend!

As a side note I have added up the rain chart for last month and it came in at 97mm.
That makes it the 2nd wettest August here since I started keeping records 6 years ago when we had 100mm in the 1st year.

With the system not arriving this week we spent the weekend getting the space ready. The new arbour was finished and the grape re-attaced.
On Saturday as the rain poured down I made a new seat to go underneath from the timber the old arbour was built with.

All going well I should be able to pick up the AP system this week!!!

Their pen is in behind the the traffic lights to the side of the garden shed. They have a very nice colour bond hen house in the back right corner.

One trick with chickens when you 1st get them you need to keep them confined in their yard for a few days till they are roosting in their allocated house, just need to make sure there is nothing higher in the yard than where you want them to sleep? If there is a tree in the yard like ours trim a wing so they can not fly up to the branches.

Once they have learnt to sleep on their roost they will always come back to same place every night.

The 2 large girls have finally started to lay and we are now getting 3 eggs a day!! :D

Took most of the afternoon to get it up and running. Should have spent more time/water in the cleaning of the clay. Thought I had done a good job, but the colour of the water tells a different story!
