The Riverland Gadget and Field Days are on again this week and for the third year in a row I suspect I'll spend the best part of half an hour talking to the solar men. They make a compelling case for a return to grid investment scale set up but we've never quite got down to the nuts and bolts of the idea. It seems it should only get more cost effective as power prices increase.

It's certainly attractive at the moment with a 60-68c/watt gross feedback tarriff here in NSW...

With the curtain winders how good is the seal between the curtain when it is down and the front and rear panels.

Would also be really handy to know who you got the GH froms

Have warned client about that... just going to use the AP grow bed to strike the cuttings and develop the roots... then plant them outside...

I've been trying to get the firm that provided the shed to erect it for nearly three weeks...

And was told they would do it last week, but didn't, finally admitting that they were tied up, and had been for three weeks, on a big commercial job...

They informed me they would do it either late this week or early next week...

On Thursday I rang and asked when they would be doing it... and asked for a firm date... they replied that they couldn't give a date...

In the interim I had contacted several local firms, all were busy for weeks with repairs locally after the severe storm....

Contacted another shed provider... who promised to quote me and advise a date.... and didn't...

For some reason on Thursday aftyernoon, I called their 1800 number, rather than the head office number... and got connected to their local agent... who announced...

"xyz, Greg Mason speaking"....

I asked if that was the same Greg Mason that couldn't jump & mark a bloody football for nuts... and was told that at least he "could kick a bloody football, you stupid bloody Kiwi"......

Greg and I played Aussie Rules football together for ten years...

Explained my problem, and he said he'd get back to me in a couple of minutes.... rang back and said he'd have a team onsite at 07:30 this morning...

True to his word, which I never doubted... they turned up this morning... only to discover that not only had the roller door not been delivered, which I knew...

But neither did what was there a bill of materials, tech drawings and/or instruction book...

And that there was obviously footing parts missing...

Had to wait until 09:00 to ring the original firm... and ask for the items to be delivered...

"We'll get back to you when xxx comes in, the files are all on his computer"...

Finally, after sitting around for 2 and half hours, I rang back and told them that if they didn't deliver the bloody stuff I'd come down with a pair of bolt cutters if necessary and get the stuff out of their yard...

The company director turned up at the security gate about 15 mins later, but wouldn't come onsite, merely passing the tach drawings, and missing parts to me and getting back in his car...

Phoned back and asked when they'd deliver the rollor door assembly... and was told "later in the day"...

Went to get lunch while the guys sorted out and began erecting the shed...

Got back, and there was a roller door, laying in the middle of the driveway in front of the security gate... no phone call... no nothing... gutless pricks...

Any way... the guys, who could only work until 14:00... began erecting the shed, while I finished off the side curtains and modded the taps on the small system...
