Hi gnash06

Think the food grade blue barrels were $30ea but don't quote me on that. Go down and check him out, the old guy is a little deaf but he has a lot down there.

One of the salvage yards on Gnangara Rd had barrels and IBC's but not sure whats been in them or prices.

Hey guys I am not really in Ellenbrook but I am pretty close in forrestfield. Good to see ya'll banding together.

This guy does cheap IBC's that have only ever had a water based concrete hardener in them (single use) Don't pay to much attention to the quantity, when I spoke to him last week he had around 20 on hand.

Quote:
WATER TANKS (5) 1000L, c/w cages, vgc, can del $100 ea. Wattle Grove. 0408-192-753

Myself and 3 mates have setups from his IBC's with no dramas to date(3 months). Also he will deliver.

Hi Pete

The white IBC's are not UV stabilised. Many systems here showing many ways to deal with the problem like paint, buried, screened etc. I wouldn't like to think what was in the Black ones. But if they are cleaned I would be interested.

Yeah the white IBC are not meant to be UV stable. My plan is to wrap them in the old pond liner I have from my previous koi pond then use the bamboo screening I picked up today to make them look pretty. You don't really want then sun shinning on the sides anyway as it will promote algae growth. Still a much cheaper option then the aquaculture tanks even if they are a bit beauty impaired.

Have seen systems done using the fruit and veg "mega bins". The look like they are PVC so should be UV stable, are double skinned so would be insulated and hold about 800L. Not sure where to get them or how much they are but they would look a lot better.

I am getting a delivery of Silver Perch this Friday from Troutman. If your quick you may be able to add onto my order or just put one in of your own while he is out this way. The delivery fee is $30, very reasonable seeing he is coming up from past Bunbury. Fish prices are also very good. If your interested in jumping in on my order let me know ASAP!
Otherwise his website is http://www.fergusonsprings.com if you want to check him out and make your own order while he is down this way.

Getting excited now! Finally fish ordered, get them in and have a real AP system and not just some grow beds being fed with seasol, hope and dreams.

Hi Pete,

Apparently we are not allowed to have Jade Perch over here in Perth. Perch are an introduced species to WA and only the silvers have been approved for farming. Or something like that anyway. Haven't confirmed this but that is what I was told by BYAP.

You can get blue barrels and all kinds of IBC's at Bills Machinery on Gnagara rd. Barrels start at $35 each. He can usually tell you what has been in them. I have seen people use the ones that have had roundup in them after a good clean with no trouble at all.
