Well I have done it, set up a mini system to rear seedlings. It is about a 10 ltr plastic container with a grow bed above with clay pebbles in it and 3 goldfish in the fish tank. Trouble is I am not sure how to make a mini siphon so it is running and draining continuously.
Am also having real trouble getting the ph down, we have spring water which is rather hard, is there anything I can do to get it down as it is off the scale on the alkaline level. I have added some ph down but am a bit worried about adding too much.
I am very bad as I did not let it cycle before I put the fish in. :D

Try using a loop siphon. do a search through the forum i'm sure someone will have explained it.

hey froglips..

i think the ph down stuff is not great to use... i cant recall the exact reason... not sure if it was bad for fish, plants or people.... but if you do a search you should get the info..

what is you ph reading?? lowering ph can be done by adding an acid... as in hcl or lemon juice. small amounts at a time.. to bring it down slowly..

The reading is 7.8 but that is all my tester card goes to.

we will rectify that as long as I can workout how to add them
