They are big plates actually - bit of a PITA as they only fit in the dishwasher one way round.

Good to see more people getting into their home grown food... :thumbright: Nice one CD...

Doesn't really take that much work and suddenly you find your eating from your yard almost every day.

Well, have had my first SP death :(

Could see he had a couple of white patches on his (her?) caudal peduncle, i.e just infront of the tail. No other obvious symptoms and he was behaving normally.

I was worried it might be fungal so I netted him and put him in a separate tank in about 120L of water salted to 5ppt. He turned up dead the next morning.

The white patches, it turns out, were not fungal, but he had lost scales there. Also a little bit of damage on the tail fin.

Suspect he died of;

- stress of being netted
- temp of the 120L dropping too low over night

So, I think, in the end he probably would have grown up a happy fish if I'd left him alone. Hindsight really is a PITA :evil:

Length (tip to tip): 180mm
Weight: 96g

:blob5:

Pretty Happy - Just got accepted at Curtin University to do my Masters Degree in Sustainable Aquaculture.

They rejected my application at first and offered me a Diploma, but two weeks of arguing and support from my Certificate II lecturer changed their minds :cheers:
