Interesting discussion. Personally I am sick of the need for Libs and Labour to constantly use "spin". It puts them in the same basket of distrust and cynicism for me. However, an honest politician when it comes to actually "answering questions" is usually signing their own exit pass.

We seem to have lost :bootyshake statesman qualities and have a culture of parliamentary behaviour that is based on shouting and insult - the tools of the unintelligent!

So dunno yet wot I will do - hole think gives me the manures. :bootyshake:

Also, test shows me to be Ghandi's long lost buddy.

Might have to turn to aquaponics to distract me.

gotta love boundary redistributions

we used to be on the northern edge of Dawson, but the boundary has crept further up and we're not the fringe-dwellers any more ;)

Hmmm, I guess I should probably watch it, don;t particularly want to... Funny I see that Tony was saying to the media the other day that "the worm" doesn't like liberal politicians, and never has liked them, so he didn;t think "the worm" was going to like him in this debate..

Hang on, isn't "the worm" really just people? :laughing3:

I like that point.. The government says that "if you're not a criminal, then you have nothing to fear by us having this information"

Doesn't that also work the other way around? They have nothing to fear by giving us the information... Unless it's basically criminal.

heh , I just clicked the "view results" button

20% of people are just turning up to get their name scrubbed off ( donkey vote then I suppose )

amazing
and disgusting

not surprising that greens are winning this poll - forums a bit biased, being that its all to do with sustainable home grown food etc

wonder what the poll results on the redneck wifebeater forum looks like though

For the first time ever I watched some of the debate yesterday and it actually helped me. As far as I am concerned, if you are going to vote you get the choice of one or the other as it is the sad reality of our current system. I am traditionally a lib voter however did not like either of the choices this time.

Watching last night I saw two things:
1. Gillard is just a puppet with no voice or mind of her own - she avoided answering every question, to me that was because she either does not know, has no policy or is incompetent.
2. Abbott actually spoke well, tried to answer questions, appeared to know what he was talking about and was not as biggoted as I had expected.

This has made up my mind as to how I will vote, funnily enough my wife had the same things to say.

Earlier in the thread I suggested Gillard was a puppet and a lot disagreed, but someone is pulling her strings
I vote for whoever sounds good at the time, No way could I vote for Abbott, he has no policy what so ever, all he is going to do is make Labors policies work better and lock up the reserve bank board to keep interest rates down, even my limited financial knowledge tells me that the only way to keep interest rates down is to screw the economy, so how could you vote for anyone who promises this :dontknow:
I have NFI what I will vote, I don't like any of the big 2 and now my boundary has changed I don't know anything about my local candidates and by the time the next 3 1/2 weeks of campaigning has finished I will be totally sick of it, I may go green :D

I don't know that she's a puppet as such, just more of a front for the typical party line... Not a lot of personality, certainly not a born leader..

I reckon this election is more about voting against the person you think who is going to do the most damage. For me that's going to be Tony, personally I see him as just plain dangerous.
