I found all the blue metal for my grow beds on the side of the road, but we find lots of things in the country, farmers aren't renown for securing anything, useful things I have found with no claimer in three months are 8 foot step ladder, 18v dewalt cordless drill in case with charger, $1000 in cash (was found at secret squirrel spot we get PP from) 3 fishing rods, golf bag and clubs, the most unusual thing I found that we knew the owner of was a Chamberlain front end loader, upside down in the scrub on side of road, called in to the owners house, he had a few ales at a bush store the night before and drove home on back roads and had no idea the loader wasn't on the truck, went and checked and

Happens all the time here, mostly if way out bush you just move it from the road to the side and the owner will see eventually, on the highways though pick it up or someone else will  have taken things to police and they have called to come and collect, the cash was found where only 2 white men have ever been, well must have been 3 cause someone lost the cash  and it was weathered a little so it didn't get handed in, I think a lot of owners would have turned up if you advertised it

driving up and down the highway to Karratha we find cars !!

Sometimes we stop and have a poke around. Spare parts, tires, tools. Stuff !!!! Being noisy :funny1:

2 days ago, a diesel contractor had broken down. We picked him up . First question he had from us was...did you leave your tool box on the back of the rig

No why he asked

Cause I could garentee if you did someone will grab it before he got back. He couldn't believe it. We couldn't believe his naivety about the situation. General rule of thumb up here, is if it is abandonded...it is up for grabs.

I must remember to put a good carving knife in the car. The next fresh bullock or calf we past that was the night befores road kill is going to loose it leg :D

Jessy, Road kill doesn't taste that great, it's badly bruised.
If you find one that's just had it's head whacked, then you might be in for a treat, but remember that skinning a cold animal is very hard, skinning a limb alreade severed from the animal is even harder. But hey, it's a shame to let it go to waste. At least let the dogs have it ;-)

road kill is fine, you slow cook and tuff gamey animal and you end up cooking a tender meal where the meat just falls apart .

My friend are always stopping and taking the fresh kangaroo tales.they cook up OK
