19.5 mm here for the past 24 hrs Nocky, and that is by a reliable gauge!

My automatic gauge measured 16.2 and last night it read 6 and we had only had 4 mm. I have noticed a lot of discrepancies before, generally it reads high and I am sure it relates to the amount of wind. I reckon the plastic mounting bracket flexes in the wind, activating the catching spoon.

Near Bunbury, the lounge faces north too. Freak gust I guess as no other damage but there was glass 2m into the room. Was windy and about 10mins latter got some hail.

My gauge is reliable Rick, Just resets at the proper time :D Officially by a more reliable gauge Narrogin had 17mm 8) Boys at WAWG are pretty excited  Tornado's, Hail, Water spouts and wind, some area's of Perth coped it big time, even Troutman's area got 20-35mm, still no comment TM? and more coming on Sunday

Was a good front alright, looking at the WA weather map almost every area had some rain. I ended up with 39mm in my gauge which is a fair bit less than the Perth hills got. Official BOM gauges in my area recorded slightly less so I wonder how accurate my gauge is, its just one of the standard ones that Landmark sell. Can you buy better quality ones??
I was up in Perth yesterday delivering fish, almost every tank I went to was going over the top so I had to bucket a few 100mm out of them before I could put the trout in!!

We may be sending you a bit more yet monya,
good to hear TM, rain varies from place to place, your rain gauge is probably correct, I prefer the self emptying electronic Gauge, it is accurate with the old style ones and you can see from inside what you have.
An example of different rain over short distance, when I was looking at the official figures for Friday at 9am saturday, Busselton had 12mm and Busselton Airport had 32mm, can't remember how far out the Busso Airport is, but a huge difference in rain

I suppose the rain pattern is no different over here, a few years back the neighbour over the road recorded 12mm, and Dad's place, directly opposite - got 0!
