I have recently got two IBCs. I have removed the plastic IBC and its cage from the metal pallet base, and have decided that I will not be re-attaching the metal base back. I will be using the whole IBC as growbed and without the base, it reduces the overall height and makes better access to the growbed.

However I was wondering if there are other uses for the metal pallet base in the backyard or similar. I live on an average size suburban block so I don't have a lot of space to store things that I may not need...

Suggestions and inputs would be great... otherwise I might bin it out during the next council general junk collection. Hopefully they take it...

I had one of those left over before, looked at it for a while and decided that it probably wasn't much use for me.

So I gather from the replies that the best use is growbed stands or scrap metal.

Anyone in Perth need them for growbed stands??

Scrap metal... too hard... no suitable transport to get them to the scrap yard.

Okay... I know I got the "pretty much useless" verdict for the IBC metal pallet base the last time... managed to get rid of the last two during the council general bulk waste clean-up last year... Will do the same this year if there are no takers...

But I was wondering with more people using IBCs as system, maybe someone might want the metal base as a growbed stand for their IBC growbed, rather than making one up...

I now have one metal base lying in my backyard... a bit different from the one pictured in the photo, but still similar in size... and will have another one probably by June, when I decide to complete the other project...

Any takers?? It's yours free... Pickup Southern River WA.
