Nice bit of Photoshopping there. No way in hell can a toad get to pet cat eating size! I know they can get to 25 cm or more and 4 kilos... but that is ridiculous.

A few things give it away... shadows and such...

Sounds like your fish got a little ahead of your bacteria. Cut back on food.

have the nitrites even been anything but zero?

cut back on the food, a LITTLE. Good that the plants are growing like crazy, how is the duckweed going? That will be helping with ammonia removal.

2 months seems to be about all it takes eh? I began eating lettuce about 2 weeks ago. Have had my fish for 10 weeks.

F&F how deep are your gravel beds? What is your ratio fish tank volume to gravel? Sorry if you have already answered these q's previously. Can't wait to come to Melbourne and see your system first hand (if that's ok)

Is/are the grow bed(s) auto siphon, or more based on EB's large design? (in flow is greater than outflow, with a stand pipe over flow)

If you used auto siphons, how do you time the pump accurately to fill the bed, enguage auto spihon, then stop so no water is left? may sound stupid...

I realise to use auto siphons it is better to run a smaller pump continuously, but I already have a large pump and want to reduce running costs.
