Congratulations Australia on the win yesterday against UK. I got to see some of it on the telly here (I am in England right now!). I just learned the basic rules a couple of weeks ago!

They had a documentary on the BBC (the beeb?) about the history of Australian/British relations, so I actually know what you mean by that!

Officially it's the England cricket team, rather than UK. Although they do have one Irishman, and a South African. Maybe it's the Commonwealth Vs Aus. Bring on the 5 nil. :)

PS: You did well to get the basic rules in a couple of weeks. I am planning to educate a recent immigrant from Canada, but it's complex business. Do I tell him about Silly Mid-on?
