I will have to post some new pics. It's been a great learning experience and it is producing some pretty good results with the tomatoes and peppers. The strawberries are a bust... not sure why.

Do you have any salt in your system? This might be why the strawberries aren't growing well perhaps?

Nice to hear about you guys in the northern hemisphere growing great summer veg, cold and miserable here at the moment.

I have not added any salt. PH was fine last time I checked, but it's been a good long while since then. My system is set up like a NFT, but is basically a DWC because the water level is maintained at a higher level. Just browsing the forum yesterday I saw someone say "strawberry roots don't like constant water"... perhaps that is my problem??

Next season I will plant more peppers. They are doing pretty well. I'd like to do more tomatoes as well, but not cherry tomatoes again. They are too small. I need to find a nice medium sized tomato.

I just got my system cleaned up for this season and I think we've decided to move! The place we're looking at is almost 6 acres so there will be lots more room to play. This system will stay with the house unless our buyer asks us to take it out.

Anyone in South Texas want a nice house with AP built in?

Our buyers did ask that we leave the AP system. This Monday I close on the house and kiss my first AP experiment goodbye. Next Wednesday I will close on my new home and start planning my next AP!

Are you going to teach the new owners how to use it before you leave? Or at least point him out to the BYAP forum?

6 acres, eh? I can see a much larger AP system in your future.

Good luck with the move. Keep us updated on your progress.

I gave my realtor a list of instructions for him. In that I included a link to this site and this thread. I also put in there a link to my youtube video about the system. With that was also a list of ideas to make the system better.... The rest will be up to his creativity :) I hope to see him on here.

It sounds like you totally lucked out! I can't imagine there being that many random aquaponicists stumbling upon a house with pre-built system... let alone someone with no experience just jumping into it.

Good deal! :headbang:

BTW... i'm definitely jealous of you moving to 6 acres of land...
