I can see you're trying to link to photos on your "facebook" account... not sure you can do that... partly because it would require a person to have a facebook account... and/or be accepted as a friend...

When posting a reply ... look below the reply "box"... and you'll see the browse button...

This will allow you to locate the image on your hard drive... select.. then click "add file"...

You can then place the image in the post using the "place inline" option...

Of course you can add multiple photos... (max three/post....max size 256kb... max resolution 800x600...)... by repeating the above...

Or submit the post.. which will automatically upload the photo to the BYAP server.. and post..

If you use the "place inline" option... your photos will display within the post where positioned...

Otherwise... they'll display at the bottom of the post... and in the reverse order to which you added them..

Plants do require some darkness or they will become stressed and die. Plants actually burn oxygen when its dark just like animals. Whether or not a regular light bulb used for illumination is enough light to harm them I do not know. It does not have to be pitch black and if you are worried you can always hang a sheet or something around the plants.

As for the gravel in your grow beds you can always use the common test of placing some gravel in a glass and then covering them with vinegar. If the gravel bubbles it is the calcium in it reacting with the acid of the vinegar.

You can Google fish food recipes. A lot of people who keep fish in aquariums make their own, however, the recipes may be species specific and like commercial food designed to just keep the fish alive. I ran across a recipe once for either catfish or freshwater prawn feed. It was a recipe designed to be used in commercial production of fish for food. It was published by either an American university (probably Mississippi State or Kentucky) or an aquaculture extension service. I tried to locate it with a quick Google search but couldn't. As for DIY pH, ammonia and nitrite test kits I doubt it. At least not without a chem lab.

I believe you can still right click on the facebook picture, then click on copy image url and paste that link in between the bbcode img tags... I read a month ago that even after you delete your facebook pic the actual image/link stays on facebooks servers indefinitely... i guess they are trying to save precious transaction times by only changing a flag in their database instead of actually removing the file from their servers and making a change in the db. I'm not 100% certain though since I deleted my 6ish year old account due to privacy concerns... which I had a long time before i deleted it but just didn't care enough :)

I use flickr + a plugin for mozilla firefox which automatically provides the bbcode to display your image and link back to your flickr page... the plugin is greasemonkey + flickr bbcode generator.

I found this one using duckduckgo

http://www.fao.org/docrep/field/003/U4173E/U4173E00.htm#tbl2

Here is the search link:
http://duckduckgo.com/?q=%22fish+feed%22+commercial+production+of+fish+for+food&v=

I've been enjoying using duckduckgo as a google alternative for a few weeks now... Less crappy advertisement links and if you want it to use google just throw in...

!google

in the search parameters like this...

!google "fish feed" commercial production of fish for food

Of course you could just use google but since I have it set as default for searching what I highlight in my browser then right click searching for it, I find adding !google to be easier than going to google and copy/pasting or typing it all out again...

If you are using microsoft operating systems you could download for free their image resizing tool at:

http://download.microsoft.com/download/ ... ySetup.exe

Once installed you simply right click the photo and choose resize image then choose "medium" and it will the right size for the forum.

Very easy, you will be amazed.

Credit to EB for putting me onto this. :thumbleft:
