Well I've done it!
Gone ahead and ordered 4 IBCs to be delivered on Friday.
No turning back now!

When my system is set up I will surround the tanks with insulation and some bamboo screening to hide them away or my hubby may complain about their industrial look.

Time to put all the words I have read into action. Be ready for more questions.
thanks
Dale

Here are my new babies, 4 of them.
I had not seen IBCs up close before they seem awfully large!

I will start a new thread for this system.
Dale's IBC system.

$100 each and $40 for delivery from Langwarran. I got them on the gumtree web site.
They do look new but they are not, have been used for non toxic animal feed ingrediants.
They look very clean but Simon recommended that I give them a further clean with dishwash liquid.

When I said they were for aquaponics he said I was the 2nd person that day who wanted them for that purpose and that he had never heard of it before.'
So I told him to google AP when he got home and he would be hooked. He has 2 dams on his property, what a bonus!

Hi Dale

Great buy on those IBCs, way higher then that here.

Re: Solenoids, I have seen several systems that had disasters using them, simple timers work so much better and help to keep Murphy at bay.

Looking forward to seeing your progress.

They look good Dale
Just setting up an IBC growbed ATM as an addition to my tropical indulgence. I'm intending to plant another banana a paw paw.
Will look forward to seeing how you approach your 4 IBC system.
And your right about the IBC's looking bigger than you think,!!!!

Thanks Des (what do people call you for short?),
I have started a thread with plans for my IBCs. Dale's IBC system.
Don't know how to create a link for it sorry.

But I have clad the sump and dug it in about halfway. Trying to organise a friend to come and weld me some grow bed stands.
It can be a slow process when your not very handy and I am seriously distracted by wicking beds at the moment too.
its a worry!
Dale
