Came across this in my travels.

Seen threads on automation, autosyphons, stepped syphons etc...
any applications to what we're trying to do with AP??

What is SCWD?
SCWD is a water switching or current generating device. SCWD switches or alternates water in two or more directions, depending on set up. It is an excellent water current generator for both salt water and fresh water environments, whether tank or pond. SCWD also has garden applications. It may be installed in statuary to create alternating or switching water flow from one spout or outlet to another or create decorative displays in garden ponds. The patent-pending device, which requires no electricity, directs water between two outlet ports at varying intervals. The higher the volume of water flowing through the SCWD, the faster the switching response.

Reading through the info, it looks like you cannot control the intervals except by varying the water pressure. It creates alternating spurts of water through each outlet. Each 'spurt' in their sample table of data ranged from 22 seconds to 4 seconds. It would be really cool if you could alternate after a certain volume of water had passed, no matter what speed your pump was. Then you could use it to alternately fill 2 grow beds. The way it looks, to get enough gallons to fill my grow bed, I'd need a high-powered pump, and then would blow the media out of my bed anyway.

But it's a really cool gadget. Maybe the company would make another version just for AP. ;)

Not if you go the way of flood and drain... a small pump would slowly fill the bed then drain fast.
