haha yes blame the yanks for getting me to question the safety of PVC in a AP system

I wouldn't be using the drippers, just put a large DIY filter job over the end of it to prevent the fish or crawlies from getting up into the pipe from either end.
Dad's pretty good with handyman jobs like that and he's keen to get something happening.

I'm just asking as parents have stacks available and means buying very little materials to get the first system up and running

I'd just avoid running the black pipe in the sun or using it to solar heat actual system water and figure growing your own food at home is healthier than having some industrial agriculture do it.
