The top of an IBC has an opening. I was wondering if that opening corresponds to a normal size pvc pipe. IE Can a common size pipe be glued into it so it can be used as a drain?

I have seen people mention that there are fittinigs available, but I did not bother looking for them. I simply siliconed up the main top as it leaked a bit, and drilled a 1.5" hold for my drain. From the pictures I have seen, it looks as most even with proper fittings ended up with silicone around theirs too. I can get pictures up if you need.

What kind of businesses/industry are y'all getting your IBCs from?
Are they food grade?

I found mine on Craigslist - was told one was for water and the other a fertilizer. Not sure I believe the fert one...it seemed to have a tasteless/odorless dried up substance in it that resumbled dried glue or poly. I just cleaned it out real well.

The small opening is pretty close to 40mm, I used a hole saw to get mine out to the size I wanted.

I found a 50mm dwv pipe adapter with a male thread that screwed straight into the smaller lid on top of the larger lid. This allowed 50mm dwv pipe to slide straight into the adapter.
