borderline toxic.... my ammonia test came out green... like pretty tree green. So I've moved the fish... things should be better now... hopefully..i'll test the system again tomorrow to see if it has gone down yet. I know... it might take a couple of days for it to go down.

Nice looking cucumber Jen. The small strawberries may be that way because of their variety. You have fruiting plants in a reasonably small system, so I'd be thinking of providing extra potassium to help those fruiting plants. You can spray Eco-rose on the leaves and the plants take it us through their foliage, also prevents powdery mildew. I also hear last week they have changed the name from Eco-rose to Eco-fungicide- smart move I say.

thanks for your comments... I got the eco-rose from gardenweek... there was a feature on eco-stuff there so it was perfect! I dont think they've changed it... they're still selling it I think they've just added another fab formula for the same thing, just works a little diff and like you said, diff name.
SO you think it's lack of potassium... ok, that helps. Thank you very much. :love7:

I wish you luck with your strawberries. You will have many people envious if you manage to keep them growing.

My apple cucumbers did the same as yours. Been planted for months, then suddenly bingo, there is a fully grown cucumber, and a few more since.

Thank you very much Rick, then I'll endeavour to make you guys jealous :D

I'm so looking forward to finding out what it tastes like because my last and only cucumber was all mutated and it didn't taste right. But then that was because it was in the cubbyhouse... lol.

Ok... come on cukes... keep coming... please!!! :notworthy:

Long time since last update. I came back lurking and posting around december haha.
After last post, I kind of went back into my gaming habit which took about 3 hours every single day but it was a very old habit and this last return didn't turn out very well so I kind of stopped doing that early last year when my grandad died. I was really depressed and my gamer friends weren't all that nice about it so no more of that habit. Ever since I've been in rehabilitation mode, trying to be around family more and sort of tidying up my garden and my aquaponics and then there's been family comebacks and a wedding to help out at.

So... I've been slowly fixing up my aquaponics again and getting back into growing my food. up till recently I just had goldies supporting flowers such as marigolds, carnations, sunflowers, and more recently hollyhocks. I didn't realise they could grow to over a metre tall! all 4 plants grew brilliantly and I've had a lot of enjoyment from them.

And just today I noted that I just posted the 500th post here! yay for me!

Systems Update: 2 systems going on in mind and happening 1 almost finish, 2nd halfway finished. the corrugated tank is joining up with the cubbyhouse, and I'm half way through building my large system, I'm still rethinking the type of system it will be because I want CHIFT PIST to use only one pump and use it to pump clean water instead of fishy water.
I've also decided I'll try to finish the CorrugateCubbyAP first before I continue with my big system.

Another 2 systems are still going, they're small and here are the pictures for them. I prefer the system with just the FT, it doesn't require as much water top ups as the other one with the sump does. The small one has 5 small-medium goldies and the big one as 3 medium-large goldies in it.
