the movie "man of the year" had a great quote

"Politicians need to be changed like diapers, frequently and for the same reason"

my question is why do WE vote for People that vote for laws, why don't WE vote for laws?

like health care, have the politicians propose the health care law, and then WE go to the polls and see if the US wants it.

instead of the US voting for people who just promises the world, then voting them out for some one else who wont deliver.

its not the politicians that are the problem, its are system of check and balances,
theres way for the people to check and balance, we just leave it up to BLIND FAITH in our Politicians.

People need to vote for things that will make a difference(laws), and not just promises.

It seems that simple but... In louisiana the Legislature can only vote in tax increases on odd years 2001 2003 2005.... so that is when they call special elections that are advertized the minimum allowed by law... when no high profile elections are going on. Say for Education... nobody goes to the polls except those who would benefit. The anti tax organizations cannot get enough people to turnout to vote no while Education workers show up 100%. And even it it fails they just try again a couple months later at taxpayer expense. Same goes for Police, Fire, highway workers, on and on. I'm not sure if in Federal Laws we are given that same option. But I agree. we should be given the option.

Therein lies the problem DF..... most people are either uninterested, under-educated (politically) or too bloody lazy.... to have to continually participate in democracy...

Aquaphonics and all other means to selfsuficincy are my tools to cut the money out from funding the corperate and government pirates. Every bit of food that I raise keeps another dallor out of their hands to try to control me further. So I raise most of my own fuel from waste oil, With wind and solar energy I create my own domestic power. By learning and making homiopathic and herbal remedies I keep money and power out of the medical and drug conserpercy. By taking every available tax break I reduce funding of all levels of government. By never voting for an incumbent I reduce the power of individual politicians. By staying debt free and trading only with credit unions I avoid funding financial and banking cartels. By pumping my own well water and using sawdust toilets compost and landfill I keep money out of entities that would poison me and the land. Using the internet as my source for news and research keeps me from the influence of the media and education gurus and their false teaching. By improvising my own spiritual beliefs I avoid any sort of religious indoctrination. By investing our resourses in indepence we keep our wealth out of wallstreet coruption.
We are not powerless unless we choose to give up our power. How we live and spend can influence mega trends. Moreover we keep our destiny in our own hands and are not held captive to these selfserving crooks. If we choose to remain at the mercy of government, religion, business, or medicine then we are indeed sheep and helpless.
