Can you claim dead fish as "food spoilage"?

Anyone know where to buy a cheap yet reliable small generator with enough to power some essentials during such events?? Don't really want to be at the mercy of WP again...

Yeah we just received an email saying that if we fill out the attached paperwork and send it in, WP will pay $80. The email said that pretty much everyone would qualify for it..

Depending on how many essentials you want to run Ivan, I have a mate who swears by his little $100 GMC generator. He has been using it for years on his 5 acre property to power electric tools out in padocks for fencing etc.. Not sure whether you can still get them at bunnings, I think they have other similar ones though..

We have a scorpion DY1000 generator here at the shop, 950 Watt I think and cost us about $400-$500. It performed pretty well yesterday running a few systems and air pumps. Would easily be enough to keep a fridge/freezer, tv, computer, etc running around the house.

I have the same one and so far its done well, saved many thousands of fishies over the last year or so as being out in the bush you tend to get more power outages. I have had to use it about 6 times since christmas! Its surprising how long a tank of fuel lasts too.

I think a tank full of fuel lasted us about 4 hours here, but we were really pushing the poor thing. Stalled due to excess load a few times so we removed pumps one at a time till we found the point where it would stay running ok.

I was getting about 6 hours on a tank but it only had to power 400 odd watts of pumps and aerators.
