I went to work this morning, thinking, the neeme oil couldn't of done that...it was diluted 5 mls of oil, into 7 litres of water, sprayed on the plants.
Maybe it was the urea I threw into the tank !!!! the day before

And yep it seems like it. I nuked out the system.

So what do you think did it? The oil or the soap? Or the combo?

I use safer insecticidal soap and have not had any problems. Maybe the neem oil?

Jess,
Keep Neem products well away from fish and especially yabbies and other crusties. A tiny amount will kill them! Soaps and detergents OK, use with Dipel etc to act as a wetting agent, but not Neem Oil!
And when combined with that amount of Ammonia, they don't have a chance! Bad Urea, Naughty Urea, Urea must be punished!.

Hope it settles down soon so the Fish can do they "business" in the acceptable manner.

Cheers ianK :support:

That's a complete bummer Jess - sorry to hear about the fish and then the nute spike as well. Really hoping it doesn't "come in threes" for you.

Thanks all for the replies. But chilli dude, I think it is comming in the three's.

Does anyone know if you could kill off the plants from too much ammonia ?? My beautiful habanero is dieing as I type ? actually so is the climbing spinach, passion fruit, and the snake beans

What have I done ??? I feel I have poisoned the whole system :?....like burning the plants from the inside out  ??? I have the hose in the tank now flushing out the ammonia :dontknow:

I did phone the pet store in Karratha. When I work all this out, I will get anouther batch of koi
