Hi Folks, I think this was discussed, I may even have started the thread. BUUUUUT what do you guys paint your styrafoam with for your DWC beds? I tried to go without but its didn't last all that long. I think a coat of paint will help. Thanks for any help!!

Ok did some research and actual read the last thread I started :oops: :oops:

Looks like almost any waterbased paint will work. I have a friend that used water based primer and it worked pretty well

I think i'll try water based pool paint. Its expensive but I'll give it a shot.

Yep, we used a food grade water based paint. You can really see where the paint was missed or was a little bit thin, the polystyrene has started to degrade in the sun fairly quickly...

I bought some elastomeric paint for waterproofing exterior surfaces. Its water based. The only concern I have is the chemicals in the paint might get into the plants somehow. Any ideas folks?

Earthbound, where did you get the food grade paint?

I really can't remember now exactly where we bought it.... Would be different suppliers over here anyway I imagine..
