Herein lies the main problem, there just aren't enough resources for all the third world countries to become first world.

And in reality I don't think that is the answer. The answer is education. There's an area in India where the girls are educated from a young age and they quite simple don't want to have kids early on, and don't want to have lots of kids. They are still fairly poor, but they aren't getting married young and having lots of kids, and as such leading a better lifestyle.

Agreed, education is the key.

Surprisingly, no prejudice, though I have spent time in a combat zone as a result of one group's 'religious fervor'... And the numbers are factual. Just do the research.

Mind you... if we could euthanase the religious bigots in the world... not only would we have a smaller population... but probably less wars... and better governance....

I almost fell for that crap myself a while back. But google is your friend.
And as a catholic and knowing my churches history I've learned not to take offense at being blamed for most of the Worlds Wars. Religion is usually just a tool in justification.

Even more disturbing are the comments, to that video, I see youtube closed the comments now, but I can't remember ever reading so much hatred coming from all direction...

But seriously... IMO... throughout history... nearly all wars have been conducted by, for... or in the name of ... ""God" and country".... "praise the "lord", and pass the ammunition".... and patriotism is usually a thinly veiled disguise for religious bigotry....

Of course, in reality... most wars, even those conducted nominally for, or with religious backing... are actually about power, dominance, and primarily greed and economic advantage.... and perpetration of the ruling elite...

Of course... getting rid of the "power elite"... and distributing the wealth amongst the populous... might have appeal to some, and might appear to even, simplistically, solve many of the underlying problems within the world...

But one mans "revolutionary" and freedom fighter... is another mans "communist", "despot" or "terrorist"... ( )

The thin edge of the wedge... is when governments begin to conduct actions.. using such terms as a "rallying cry" ... usually to some distorted appeal to "patriotism"... an/or "religion"

I fail to see what the religion of the people who are procreating has to do with anything!

Each person added to Australia's population growth regardsless of religion, ethnicity, race, colour or creed is a drain on resouces and therefore the environment.

A Muslim or Catholic or any other person properly educated will realise the danger of over population and reproduce accordingly. Education is the key, it just happens that the majority of Muslim immigrants are under educated (due to the socio-ecenomic situation in their homelands) and therefore may have larger families them the educated women of the countries they are immigrating to! This is the same as the working class Catholic immigrants that preceeded them who a generation or two on, with the benefits of education and women's liberation, no longer seem to be having the large families associated with the religion.

You're wrong... a few facts...

Muslims, or those listing themselves as Muslims... make up 1.1% of Australias population....

Of those... 36%... were born in Australia...

Of those Muslims immigrating to Australia... all of whom are screened... 70% speak English... and generally have an education level of at least completed high school through to degrees...

In a recent study on "physcological stresses of immigration"... it was noted...

Remember... a large proportion of Muslims immigrating to Australia... do so through screened entry programs... especially those during the last decade of "howardised" immigration...
