cut up 8 blue drums, worked out how the blue drums will be set up, set up the stand for the strawberry towers, started marking out the towers for cutting, put shadecloth over the duckweed, smacked a couple of toads for being in the duckweed, SAW some of my fish AND the bottom of the tank for the first time in a couple of weeks!

Alex is hard at work going to the basketball , so the kids and I are having pizza for dinner. :)

I've still got 5 1/2 drums left. One was found on the side of the highway with the top already cut out, so I suppose that one will be a 200L vertical drum for a tree. Another one has had a long sunny life and the top has spilt, so that will be another vertical one.
The other 3 1/2 will possibly be cut in half (the other way) to give 6 100L tubs, for trees and grapes.

Jezz Jaymie,

The postie will soon be delivering mail to "Blue Barrel", Alligator Creek.

Your place will end up looking like some sort of weird outdoor art gallery,
hope you've got good neighbours and a friendly council LOL

I've got 1 1/2 acres, soon (when everything is set up) it will look really different (all the excess acquisitions will go elsewhere) and it might even be tidy.
Then in a few months, the plants will cover it all up and you'd never know it was there (shhhh) :laughing3:

two big deliveries today...

the greenhouse film and connecting rails (thingos) are in the back of the ute at Alex's work (the courier said "Oh, we don't deliver out to the mountains" - it's 30 minutes from town, the same as the 'burbs to the north or west sides of town, that everyone will deliver to... grrr, bloody double standards)

Installing the roof will be a job for early Sunday morning when there is no wind about.

And, my pump is here! Yay! Thank you Murray! I haven't taken it up to the tank yet, it's way too hot to go working up there yet, another 1/2 hour maybe.

I borrowed the heat gun from Wayne, so I can start doing the towers in the morning.

Hmmm, what other jobs do I need to do?
* work out the correct plumbing from the pump to the gb's
* paint the sump tank (bought the paint today)
* finish the frame for the towers
* tidy up the rest of the railway sleepers
* scrounge up some more blocks for the blue drums
* pick up the other ibc, clean it
* etc, etc
