If you can check to see if there is much marble or limestone in that before you put too much energy into moving it. Rinse some off and then soak it in distilled water for a couple days then check the pH of the water. If the pH of the water stays below 8 then the stuff should be great media.

I was actually considering the 150L/min pump

More air cannot be a bad thing right? Or maybe I should get 2 X 40L/min and use one as a backup.

Can anyone tell me the the size of these? Its very hard to tell. I am looking at the 50L one

Warm only and very little vibration you could sit it on a sponge

Well now that I am back from overseas, I can get serious. I picked up my 5 Tikley tubs the other day, and my pumps and accessories have all arrived. Now I just need to build the boxes/supports for the tubs, and I can start plumbing!

Yes im still alive! lol.

Been super busy with house renovations so the AP stuff has been put on the back burner for the time being. That said I do have some room in the garage now so I can start making the frames up for the grow beds so they are ready to go.

Now just need to design something that can support 700KGs....

Nothing too serious will suport that staticly. It's only if you were planning on mounting on a trailer that you would need super support :D

Main issue is if I'm going to use metal or wood. It will be out in the weather obviously and I want something that will last some time. Steel is stronger but wood is easier to work with, and cheaper...

Hey all,

Been super busy wit house renovations, but after watching food inc the other day, have become super inspired to make a move on this. I have everything I need now but am changing direction slightly. Instead of spanning my AP stuff all over the back yard, I am going to make a loop greenhouse, and have it all contained in their. Has many benefits obviously.

I need some earthworks done out the back for leveling and digging tanks in so will get a bobcat dude round in the next few weeks. I am off to the states in 5 weeks so that will slow progress, but want to have earthworks done by then so when I get back I can finally start putting it all together before summer time.

Question: One of my tikly tubs has bowed a little on the sides and the bottom. I am wondering once I set these up, will it straighten out again? The other 4 tubs are fine.

Milne, my new mobile is 0439-913-341. Give me a buzz and I will have you around for a beer and show you my latest idea for positioning, etc.

CheerS!

So I have been i talks with a mate over the greenhouse design. It looks like I have sourced some stands for my Tikley growbeds. I have 5 GB's, and will be buying these 4 stands by the looks of it. With the stands end to end, I can fit all 5 GB's on which is great. The GH is kinda designed around this concept if your wondering why I dont change the GB configuration.

In the design you will see my main fish tank which is 3000L, two IBC's (one secondary fish tank, one sump), the grow beds, and a green dirt patch for potatoes, pumpkins, etc.

If you are wondering what the cylinder in the front corner is, its a worm farm. All is drawn to exact scale.

I have included a man for reference and my fences also.

Thoughts welcome!

Its going to be built out of electrical conduit, and then some purpose built poly.

I am off to the states for a month on holidays in about 2 weeks and will start the building process when I get back. Stay tuned.

I also picked up my stands for my growbeds the other day so I have all the bits I need now!
