I have had emails recently from a couple of members saying that they are having problems staying logged into the forum, and that they are logged out every few seconds.

Is anyone having problems like this? I'm trying to get as much information together as possible so that I can try and work out what might possibly be going wrong.
If you are having problems staying logged in could you please send me an email with as much information as you can, how often it happens, browser details, whether you've tried different computers, etc... joel @ backyardaquaponics.com (just remove the spaces)

Thanks...

Yes.

all three of my machines that I leave logged into the forum permanently  (I know, I know, I should see somebody about it.) lost their login (roughly) simultaneously the other day.
My main system at work had to be logged in some 3 times I think that day.

I don't know what day or what time :-( sorry.
I had assumed it was my net connection, and losing my sessionID, but perhaps something more widespread

I don't think I'm having a problem with the forum.
I know that I have to re-log in a couple times a day but I thought that was simply some sort of timer function. Usually if I'm at the computer being active on the forum it isn't a problem. I just notice that if I go away and do other things for a while, I might need to log in again about 50% of the time. (It seems to be a matter of at least an hour away from the computer before I get logged off.)

I use Mozilla firefox

What is this other forum you mention?

Same here as TCLynx... I do get logged off after a period of idle time... I presume it was a timer function, much like the website with security logins that logged you out if your computer is idle for some time... I think the idle time out is at least about 30mins... but re-login again, and all is fine....

So... is everyone that's having problems using "Firefox"??

Are people clicking the "keep me logged in"... and/or "log me in automatically" button when they sign in?

Rupe I think it's the opposite, people with FF are having almost no problems, I know at work with our JD system you can't use IE 8 and I have problems with banking with IE 8, so maybe the problem is there, I don't know why MS update things when they haven't got the last version ironed out yet, when Fire Fox updates every thing works :| I suppose MS are trying to keep up with the opposition,
Kids were watching Futurama a couple of years ago and they were using Windows 3000 and they were complaining about it crashing all the time, they maybe right :?
