OBO not so sure they will feed on floaters as they like the bottom, they certainly eat marron pellets and as mentioned minced red meat, also PP and unminced yabbies plus algae, I think they will eat anything that sinks, but will like to see if they get onto trout feed when trout are in, they will eat trout pellets if a sqash them and make them sink, too much stuffing around though

Mate, work with me here - I was giving you a perfectly legitimate reason to start another system (or expand) :D .
OBO won't be able to just pop out to a nearby soak though and it might help him reduce costs, dunno.

Anyway, might grab some while I'm there, just so I can mix up the gene pool with the ones I'm gunna source here. Lucky I've got a lot of white buckets with lids to bring with me.

It's exactly this kind of irresponsible behaviour that has led to current legislation... and the spread of noxious fish into our waterways....

It's also the kind of behaviour that is likely to draw negative attention to aquaponics...

Please... DON'T DO IT....

Really rupe it's his dam that is full of other shit, and every dam and water way here is full of them, except the GWH's if he want's to eat them I am not going to stop him, his dam has nothing to do with AP, as for having them in AP we are helping reduce them and not breeding them so this should give AP a good name, as for Red Fin in AP I am doing everything to make sure we are with in the law, if it is against the law then I will advise accordingly when info comes to hand from the proper sources, as for the GWH it's his farm and he can do what he wants, he *frack* ed up with gambusia and I am helping him get rid of them so again I think it is a positive move, my opinion anyhow

Nocky, while I appreciate that it might be "his" dam... the attitude that it's alright... to translocate noxious species... is what I'm objecting to... and as I say... the kind of attitude that has led to the spread of noxious fish...

Yep, removing the Redfin to an AP system ... could be seen as a "service"....

Not sureabout WA.... but most other states... it is outrightly illegal to possess certain species... they are supposed to be destroyed on the spot.... regardless of the rationale...

Translocation of even native species... is a problematical issue.... especially in WA...

Whilst I understand the experiment... as a possible AP species... and even enjoy the taste of Redfin.... there is a definite question regarding "legalities"....
