Just posting in here cause i think i got the topic right :-)

Duckweed it seems here is a noxious weed. Shop told me where to go and collect some though.

I cant find java moss... I felt stupified when the local aquarium shop told me they only had plastic... I didnt want to have to explain it to her why i wanted it...

Has anyone found that - having to explain the aquaponics process because you want <insert part here> part for <insert process here> process and and i really only needed a yes we have it or no we dont? Not that i mind explaining it, just been the thousanth time..

Duckweed is NOT a declared weed in Queensland. I went through this last week with NRM and an officious shopkeeper. I just collected a bucket full from a Council park, with their permission.

Hey check this out guys... Java moss cheap... they cant send to WA, but not bad.

Duckweed converts Ammonia to Nitrites...
Java Moss converts nitrites to nitrates....

I find it easier to say I'm working on an art project, not AP. They still look at you funny, but the conversation is a lot shorter. Yes, my art project has fish,....and duckweed....and PVC pipe, OK????!
