Great to hear troutman. you can be expecting an order from me.
here are a few more pics of the pond and the texture that i used for the
outer coating. I am not 100% happy with the liner but I will touch it up again
Later this year. just to get more of a uniform colour to it.

Got a frim quote on glass today so as soon as i have done a few cashies I will lash out

anyone in perth with a Jap breed of motorcycle i will do minor services/ fit tyres/ chain and sprockets etc...
supply and fit if necessary.... cheap labour rates.

under water hockey! I haven't played for years would love to get back into it... maybe i have built a training pool then... although, by pool i mean pond. (pools require fencing and council approval in my area.. as do spas and dams. and yes aparently i could have built a dam in my back yard all i would have needed was a permit!)

Yeah just tying to find some nice looking submersible lights only two of them. I will also have some Halogen downlights from above. I am thinking of a tall slender plant to go in the centre of the whole thing.. maybe 1.4ish metres tall (pond is 2.1ish m deep) to add a bit of atmosphere under water for the fish.. some controlled duckweed on top..
plenty of air bubbles from the bottom and mid way up... lots planned... but first.. window... its now coming sooner than i expected.

Steve,
I used a single 12V halogen pond light mounted at the top of my Fish tank cover. It shows better light than having it on or near the bottom shining up. You don't get any glare as you do when mounted in the base. The light is sometimes submerged and sometimes out of the water depending on the change in level in the FT.

The grandkids love it, even without fish in the tank; they like watching the aeration bubbles!

hey Ian thanks for the thoughts. and the pics... killer tank!. I have a small fluro above my little BYAP 1000L 1 GB system and at night it does light up the tank beautifully.
Might have a look see around for a similar type of light you have shown and mount them on the window wall in mine. in saying that, just a quite thought to myself, if i organised my downlights for the patio roof it would be interesting to see the effect they would give on the water as well...

i need to get a sparky in sometime soon to put some electrickery shenanigans in the roof nearby to power everything up... extension cords amuse my dog unfortunately... and dont look pro enough for what i am trying to achieve.
and after looking through food&fish' system pics contemplating some hydro channels along the fence behind the shed for lettuce and frilly stuff...

cant actually stand where mr man is.. and those are gates next to him ...
the other end is where the workshop is. There is a 1m walk way right around the w/shop so i was thinking maybe a
nft channel set up along the fenceline as well.

Back to the lighting of the tank, I have something called moon lights on my aquarium. They are LED and light it all up blue at night. They have a really nice soft look to them. Low enough power they just stay on 24/7.

You may want to take a look.
