If you plan carefully and disturb the existing gravel/fish tanks as little as possible during the operation, tinkering doesn't have to be fatal. Just don't tinker too much with water chemistry if things are working ok.

I've been able to add to and re-arrange my system quite a bit without losses of fish.

My Aquaponics isn't absorbing as much of my time as it used to, I sometimes miss it. Yes once it is all up and running, most of us come on here to help other along since we are quite addicted. But then I might get a bright idea to try out.

To help prolong the fun part (and teach yourself the patients needed) be sure to read the Basic Info and Useful info sections of the forum then try and pick out a few of the big long member system treads to read (probably need a note pad to keep track of which page you were on before you had to leave the computer to visit real life.) Reading a few of the member system threads can often rescue you from some of the mistakes that are common. Also starting a member systems thread of your own, even if you don't have a system yet is good. You can use it to get help in the planning/design phase. Perhaps show a picture of a possible site or possible parts.

Welcome!!!!!!!!
